If your Ionmax ION651 is brand new and not collecting water, there could be several possible reasons:

1. Ensure to remove the plastic film bag from the filter before use.

2. Humidity level may be too low – Dehumidifiers only collect water when there is sufficient moisture in the air.

If the room humidity is below around 50–60%, little to no water will be collected.

3. Room temperature may be too low – If the temperature is too cold, the unit may not operate efficiently.

4. Insufficient run time – The unit may need more time to start extracting noticeable moisture, especially in a dry or large space.

5. Room size or conditions – If the area is too large, not enclosed, or not well insulated, it can affect performance.

6. Airflow issues – Make sure there is enough space around the unit and that filters are clean.

7. Set the fan speed to high for better moisture removal.

8. Settings – The target humidity should be set lower than the actual RH so the unit can start dehumidifying.

If all of the above are correct and the unit still does not collect water, it may need further inspection.
